The Entrance to the ETC on the Murdoch Univ. Campus

Above & Below the main Waalitj courtyard - a haven in both summer
and winter.

Stormwater harvesting is an important way to make maximum use of one of
our most precious resources - water. Long time supporters of the ETC perth
Based Tanks West have generously supplied us with a variety of rain water
tanks. If you are thinking of installing one at your place, drop by to
see some of the huge variety that Tanks West can offer.

The Biomax unit, outside the Waalitj building, treats all grey and black
water from the building. The treated water is then used to irrigate a
small lawn area via sub-surface drip line.

The ETC Gazebo, adjacent to the large pond is a great place to sit and
relax or hold that impromptu meeting. A similar structure will be built
during Spring 2003 by our Green Reserve Team.

The nut trees are some of the few trees to drop their leaves this winter.
A mild start to the season has confused our plants - an us.

The solar powered desalination plant (left) and the main water tank on
site.

Zone 4 at the ETC Permaculture Garden is given over to a variety of orchard
fruit trees. A major irrigation upgrade was completed at the end of summer
2003.

The ETC Site hut were the workers hang out. Both the Grape Vine and Passionfruit
are dormant at this time of year. The outdoor kitchen area gets plenty
of use during the summer but in winter, well it gets just as much use
then too! A little bit of cold weather caan't keep the determined ETC
Team down.

The use of worms to carry out vermicomposting of organic waste is essential
to the ongoing operation of the ETC

The ETC Chickens - an essential part of any permaculture system. The Chickens
at the ETC are protected under the University Animal Ethics Committee
Guidelines.

The ETC Green
Reserve Team - one of our most valuable resources.
