| Pundulmurra Aboriginal Landcare Service

The Pundulmurra Aboriginal Landcare Service (PALS) operated from 1992-97. This collaborative project between RADG and the Pundulmurra Plant Nursery, Pundulmurra College, South Hedland. PALS was funded by the National Landcare Program (now part of the Natural Heritage Trust), and additional funding was secured from Environment Australia's Community Employment Program in Natural and Cultural Resource Management (CEPANCRM) to employ an Aboriginal Landcare Training Officer, and Aboriginal nursery workers.

The main scope of the project was to deliver landscape planning, training and development in conjunction with Western Desert communities (Jigalong, Parnngurr, Punmu and Irrungadji) and some Pilbara communities (Wakathuni & Palari). Major emphasis was placed on utilising local species in windbreaks to reduce dust in living areas.
