A series of major site-works are currently underway at the ETC utilising labour from our Work for the Dole (WFD) programmes. The two most eye-catching projects are the new central shade gazebo and the pond extensions. Due for completion in time for this year's Open Garden day (Nov 29+30) the new additions to the etc-site will provide a much needed sanctuary during the long hot summer.

Otti Bajsa, Karen McKenzie and Mick Sherriff our site coordinators manage two WFD programmes along with the Green Reserve programme. With a consistent work force the site coordinators have developed a major works plan for the site including a major upgrade to the existing pond, new central shade gazebo, new nursery, propagation area and worm-farm shed.

The ETC would like to thank Bridging the Gap (South) and JobsWest who administer our Work for the Dole programmes. Work for the Dole is a Federal Government initiative aimed at assisting long term unemployed meet mutual obligation requirements and get back to work. most importantly we would like to thank our Work for the Dole participants who demonstrate that our long term unemployed are enthusiastic, dedicated and highly skilled.

You can see more of the Work for the Dole projects at the 2003 Open Garden Day at the ETC, November 29 + 30 [Sat + Sun] from 10am-4pm.
