Over 30 Melville
Rotarians joined ETC Green Reserves and Volunteers, plus key staff,
to enjoy a light BBQ lunch on one of those spectacular Perth autumn
days.
The ETC has,
in the past, received financial support from Melville Rotary. Our low
impact nursery was made possible by funding from Melville Rotary. The
nursery was designed as a short term facility with due regard to the
decommissioning phase - this means the Rotary/ETC Temporary Nursery
Facility can be dismantled and re-erected in a new position, such as
a remote Aboriginal community.
Plans for the
new ETC nursery are well underway with the ETC keen to expand its community
education programme and bush regeneration projects. So too the ETC
is looking to increase the number of Aboriginal communities who receive
nursery skills training at the ETC.
Melville Rotary
have also been supportive of the ETC in assisting with the finishing
of the straw-bale hut and provision of tools for the Green Reserves.
Service Clubs
make a great contribution to community life throughout Australia. Many
regional centres and towns rely on the local Service Club to provide
much needed financial, material and emotional support to members and
non members alike. If you have ever thought of joining a Service Club,
such as Rotary, now is the time. Think about it and if you live in
the Melville area contact the Melville Rotary Club (see web-link below).
Rotary, like
many Service Clubs, fund a diverse range of community based projects
for more information follow the links below. The ETC would like to
thank Rotary International and particularly Melville Rotary for their
support of the ETC.
