| Green Environment Monday team grow very big vegies!

Led by Beth Strang, Murdoch Guild Environment Officer and member of MUENSA (Murdoch Uni Environmental Students Association) the Gem team have more than acheived their goals for the first part of 2004. With an extensive re-fit of the straw-bale hut, including the construction of an outdoor kitchen almost complete, the GEM team have just harvested their forst crop of organic vegies.

"GEM is all about getting people involved with growing good healthy organic food," said Beth. "We've had about 20 people involved in the first part of the year and most of them have come back for another go".

Part of the first harvest included a larger than normal turnip (pictured below with Beth Strang).
